About Me

I am a Head Start teacher in Clermont County, Ohio.  I just got two Robo hamsters today in my class.  They were given in a set of 4 to another teacher by a parent who didn't want them anymore and she hand off two to me.  I couldn't figure out what kind of hamsters they were until I researched them and found this site.  I never seen hamsters this small before.  We named them Itsy and Bitsy.  Any information you can give me about them is much appreciated.  My children in my class loves watching them.  They are very energetic.

Hamsters are really interesting, especially robos. But as a class pet they can get easily startled. If they get startled a lot, they get stressed out and they are mainly nocturnal and avoids sunlight. i am not trying to sound mean but maybe put the hamster cage in a dark corner and maybe ( if the students are very noisy, again not trying to sound mean) let them have a time, maybe before leaving your period/ class where they can look at the hamsters. Like i said they are nocturnal and if the kids are noisy and wake up the hamsters a lot, they will get stressed. So try to noy scare the hamsters. this website is full of imformation! Anyways, i hope i helped!
