I have two Robos, one Male and one Female they are together in the same tank. They have been that way for about a month or two. Lately for the past 3 weeks or so, they have both been drinking water like crazy. I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. So, I figured I'd ask on here. if  you have an answer I would love to here it. Thank you C:

One obvious possibility is that they could have diabetes. You could get some keto-diastix and test their urine.

Are you a breeder? Or do you plan on separating the hams before they reach maturity?

I though my hamster was drinking too much but then I found out that the water bottle was just leaking. If it is not leaking, they may have diabeties, but that is quite weird for both of them to have diabeties. So check your water bottle and if that is not the case then I am not sure.

Hope this helped!!

I was planning on breeding them, yes. The female I had since she was a baby, I got her from my friend who was a breeder until her two died of old age. The male she got for me, I think she bought him at a petco or a petsmart. The Male is the one that drinks water a lot. (the one in my picture). Is it still ok for me to breed them or should I get another male? I don't really wanna give up my poor boy. :c

I Think it is just the male that is drinking a lot. I know the water bottle is not leaking, because I can hear them drinking it and when I hear it I go to check who it is and It is mostly the male. But thank you for that suggestion ^.^

He is really a cutie in those pictures, and I definitely would not give him up if I were you! You can easily test his urine to see if he is diabetic. The strips should be easy to use (I did this before myself).

As for being a breeder, it is a LOT of work if you want to do this with the best interest of the hams in mind. I am pasting some links here for you to read in case you don't already have this info. Good luck!
