First of all, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this website. It has helped my girlfriend and i considerably with getting our robos.

Now the story, We ordered a 15 us gallon tank (with two shelves) which broke in transit, so we got a refund and luckily picked up a 19 us gallon tank with three shelves which was the last one in stock. We got all the other different pieces we might have needed.

Bedding and hamster food.

Just all the things we got.

You'll notice in the picture above we got a carrier for the hamsters, Which didn't make much difference as they spent most of the time in their tube.

Just the basics to get them home.

So we got everything in the tank and unfortunatly the wheel didn't fit and the ladders weren't ideal, so they'll be used for something else. We set the tank up as best we could.

As you can see, it's missing the wheel.

Just before we got them in the tank, we decided to change things about about. This is the current setup.

Front view

Side View

And so, we got the tank in place, and we decided the tank was a bit big for just two robos, so we got four instead.

And without further ado, Here are some robo pictures.

Thanks. It wasn't all that cheap as you know. My girlfriend and i went half each on it. I've wanted a new pet, she hasn't room for any pets, so this seemed a good compromise.

They're all showing distinct personalities already. We've a larger looking one which loves the wheel but is very afraid of anything moving in the tank thats not other robos. A smaller one which is very inquisitive and slow moving until he gets on the wheel. Those two sleep in the house pictured above.

The other two are much smaller and more timid, but just as fast. Tend to sleep together but in a small nest they've made in the tank in a dark corner of the bottom layer.

I've got a fire glow lamp so i can see them at night without disturbing them too much so it's very interesting to watch.

I found them in my local pets at home. They are the kind with two metal wires running down them for flexibility. That tunnel thing in the fourth picture at the bottom right is actually the same thing, just twice as wide.

Thanks, I only have a Fujifilm S5800 but i sell digital cameras (among other things) for a living so i knew how to get the best out of it. I'd love a Canon 450d or a 40d but i've not the money yet.

If anyone wants to see the pictures a bit bigger.

More photos i took today.

If you can see theres a small chip out of his ear. Only noticed this today and he is one of the smallest, but there seems to be two pairs in this tank and they all get on.

40ds cost about £500-600 in the uk, Which is a tad much for the likes of my self right now.

Edit: just checked, £719 is an average price.

Your cage for your robos are amazing!!  I was kinda wondering where you got it because at all the petshops I go to have tanks but they don't even have levels. I was also wondering how are you suppose to clean the cage???

Cleaning the tank is easy enough. Once a day i'll just have a general feel round for any areas where the bedding is wet, and just remove those areas. Generally i look around for anywhere they may have been using as a toilet and tidy there. Sometimes the inside of the tank gets a bit messy so i just keep that clean. Then i'll change food and water as needbe etc.

Once a week to twice a week. i remove all of the bedding/most of the bedding (any untouched areas like beside the house just get kept in a box in the meantime) , using a vacuum cleaner for the corners, give the tank a scrub down with disinfectant and warm water and allow to dry before rebuilding the tank.

The only company to make these tiered tanks is unfortunatly for some, a uk company called Underworld. They make these perfecto tanks.

While the tank is being cleaned thouroughly, the two smaller more relaxed robos stay in the carrier they arrived in, and the two more boisterous robos tyre themselves out in their balls. This is atleast until i get more balls. My girlfriend or sister usually takes care of them so i can get the vacuum cleaner out on the room.

Yeah it is alot of money. It's hard to justify £700 on a DSLR when a car is £1000 :P

Ouch, mind you, you are buying a lot for the money. My new DSLR (Canon 400D) is great, I bought it from eBay for a reasonable price (everyone was selling for £500, I bought for £300) and not to my knowledge, it came with a free 4GB CF card!
