Sarge and Carl

Once me and my friend were at PetCo and we were looking at some of the small animals. I was looking at the mice and rats, and then I found some robos, who I thought were mice because they were so SMALL! I asked myy parents if I could get one, and they said in about a week. We got a cage, bedding, food, and something to chew on. When we got them, it turned out the cage was to vertical for them, they could only live on the 1st floor, and there wasn't enough space there. So we returned it, and got an aquarium and an extension for the top with ramps. We took some time thinking about names. I came up with Sarge, and my brother came up with Carl. And as it happened, we were the only ones who could tell them apart. They love the wheel, and a little hollow toy truck, that they could fit in. That was were they slept , and took food. I think they liked it because it was like a burrow in the Gobi Desert. They have been in our house for like four days now, and are already well aqquainted! I look forward to the next 2 years we spend together! :-)

It all happens to us at one point in our hamster owning time.Yes, thats right, my hamster escaped. My little cousin was in my bedroom (he was 4) and he stuck his hand in the cage and grabbed bubble. As bubble escaped in my bedroom, i shut the door and had a look around. He was under the tv.So i left him there to go and check on squeak. He wasn't there. i panicked so hard. I put bubble in his carry case and was looking for hours for squeak.I took bubble back to his cage, i was crying then i put my hand down with bubble in it and all i see was squeaks face pop out from under the sawdust. He'd burrowed into the sawdust and tried to play hide and seek.Naughty little boy. I was so relievd though, as i have 2 cats and had to lock them outside for about 3 hours. And spots (my cat) still holds a grudge with me for keeping her outside for a couple  of hours.

Hammy

On Christmas day my brother got a fish tank, so obviously he was getting fish. He was getting fish after only asking once, but me? I had been asking for a dog ever since I turned six, eight years. So when we went to Petco to get Cooper`s fish, I was NOT happy. So, I wandered around for a while. I found the Hamster section, and they were adorable. After my brother got his fish, I asked my mom if I could have a Hamster. She said no. So you know what I did? I begged, and begged, and begged. And it actually worked, but she said now I wasnt getting a dog, and I was fine with that, I wasnt going to get one anyway. I was so happy that I didn`t care. So we went back to Petco a little while later, I wanted a girl Hamster, because I was a girl. But there were none in the tanks, then a worker said there were some baby Roborovski Hamsters in the adoption section of the store. He said that they were all girls, So I got one, and with my inability to be creative, named her Hammy. So I got her on Febuary 2nd, 2013. And it has taken me this long around 2 months, on April 14th, I just realized, that she is a guy.

THE DAY THAT MY ROBO HAMSTER WENT ON HOLIDAY!

:)

MY ROBOS HOLIDAY - SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK MY LAPTOP HAS BROKEN!! LOL

DAY ONE

I WENT HOME AFTER SCHOOL AND ONE OF MY ROBOS HAD ESCAPED. I WASNT SURE HOW THOUGH?? I GUESS HE MUST OF CLIMBED UP ONTO HIS HOUSE AND SQUEEZED THROUGH THE BARS RIGHT AT THE TOP! I CALLED MY MOM IN AND SHE SAID TO PUT SOME FOOD ON THE CARPET. WE TURNED OFF THE TELEVISION AND THE RADIATORS, AS ALL THE DOORS HAD BEEN SHUT IT COULD NOT HAVE ESCAPED. THE OTHER HAMSTER WAS STILL IN THE CAGE SO I DECIED TO MOVE THE HOUSE SO THAT ONE COULD NOT ESCAPE.

DAY TWO

I WOKE UP EARLY, AND AS IT WAS A SATURDAY I DID NOT GET DRESSED. I OPENED THE DOOR AND SAT ON THE CARPET. ALL THE FOOD HAD GONE! I HEARD SOME CHEWING AND LOOKED BEHIND THE SOFA. THERE HE WAS, ALL FAT AND CUTE, BUT STILL FAST.  HE RAN BEHIND THE CABINETS AND BEHIND THE TV. I BLOCKED THIS AREA OFF AND PUT IN A BUCKET WITH FOOD IN IT AND ONE LADDER, PLUS A TOWEL IN THE BOTTOM. I FILLED IT WITH LOTS OF FOOD, VEG AND MUESLI. I WAITED. I WAITED....

5 HOURS LATER

I HEARD A THUMP AND LOTS OF SCURRYING ECT. HE WAS IN THERE, HE WAS SAFE!. i QUICKLY SCOOPED HIM UP AND PUT HIM BACK IN THE CAGE. I HAD NOW GOT A NEW ONE, AN UNESCAPABLE ONE! HE WAS SAFE AND A FEW DAYS LATER HIS GIRLFRIEND HAD BABIES, SO MAYBE HE ESCAPED TO FIND MORE FOOD... I WILL NEVER KNOW!

THANKS FOR READING, BTW THIS HAPPENDED ON THE 2ND APRIL 2013 :D

HI I own two hamsters name Crash and Hopper, they are both boys, Hopper has more white underneath his body but Crash has more brown on top of his body.

But Crash died a couple of weeks ago because they were fighting so we seperated them, the next day i got another cage for Crash so i took him out of the box he was in and put him in his new cage but he didn't get up he didn't blink either then he twiched twice and then fell so that is how Crash died.

When they were fighting Hopper got a scar and Crash was bleeding but alive I was going to take him to a vet but my mum said it was closed.

   Hello!

The other day my mother and I were spending what little time we have together before I leave for college, during that time we stopped at a local pet store to visit the puppies they had. Above the noise of all the animals we heard these two small Robo hamsters. I fell in love right then and talked my mom into letting me get them. This was not my smartest idea due to the fact I will be joining the service soon and will not be able to take care of them. Lucky me, my brother offered to take care of them for me when I am away. I think it will be really good for him to learn some responsibility and also learn the value of lives no matter how small the size.

They run around the house in their little plastic balls and my dog Sasha loves to watch them. She sits in front of their cage and guards them while we are away. In the short days that I have had them they have really been apart of my family. Hopefully, they will keep my mother's mind off my absence.

From two to a hundred!

Good day friends,

I started breeding hamsters February last year 2012. We have a lot of pets. We have four dogs, 3 pairs of parakeet, 20 kinds of fresh water fish and now these adorable hamsters. We started with a pair then it grew to a hundred and still counting. By the way, me and my wife both decided to have them as pets. We picked siberian dwarf hamsters because they're too cute and they don't grow too much. 4 inches long -  max for females and 5 for males. Our first pair were named Husky and Savvy. Husky was already a year old when I we got him. He was very gentle and laid back while Savvy was the energetic gal. They gave us 4 pups and were named Cheena, Black eye, Sam and Sab. Cheena and Sam were the female hamsters. Then the family just kept growing and growing. They breed twice a month averaging from 4 to 9 pups. We couldn't keep up with their daily needs. I have an average job and my wife just stays at home. Our son is not really into hamsters, he likes our dogs.

Since  our family was getting bigger and bigger, we couldn't afford buying their feeds regularly. I had to give them supplemements like bread and veggies. But giving them veggies regularly makes them sick. So just give them twice a week. Bread is ok, specially for pregnant hamsters. Their diet consists of crushed corn mill, peanuts, sunflower seeds and other stuff that pigeons and chicken have. Don't worry, they are perfectly fine based on our experience. I wouldn't have a hundred of them if not ok? Going back to the story, we had to decide about our hamsters. So what we did was gave some away to our close friends and relatives. But they just kept breeding and breeding. It was ok but I just couldn't afford their basic needs anymore. It was a decision me and my wife had to make. It is either we quit on them or make some sacrifices. Good thing it never came down to that, one day I've met this guy who owns a petshop and he saw me holding my favorite hamster "Vegeta". He asked me if I breed hamsters and I said I did so he asked me if I could supply his petshop a number of hamsters every now and then. Since then, we became partners. I supply him an average of 30 - 50 hamsters a month. Customers just love my hamster he said. Our hamsters are really cute and fat. maybe because of their diet. When you let them roam around, you couldn't even see their legs because that's how fat they are.

Because of this tie-up, I can now give our hamsters the diet and care they need because their brothers and sisters already paid for it :D. We keep our best hamsters and whenever we get a new breed with a different color, she or he is a keeper. Two months ago, our very first pair just passed away. I just found out from the petshop that I had bought them that they were older than I think. Unfortunately, nobody wanted them but me and my wife think that they were just adorable. Thanks for almost a year of hapiness and joy Husky and Savvy. Your grandhamsters will be taken care of.

I hope you like my simple story....
